It is my dream to one day make a full-time living as a musician and composer. In an ideal world, all of us would be able to do the things we love without the constraints of money or time. Being a musician, while exhilarating and rewarding, is also exhausting with little monetary reward in return. There are times when artists struggle to make ends meet, and I’ve heard no shortage of stories from my fellow musos who have been ripped off by individuals and corporations.

But before you donate to me, I urge you to think about the other independent artists and musicians you know. Are there any people who have really influenced you, or artists you’ve met who are worth more than they’re paid? Come up with a list of 2 or 3 of them, and consider donating to them to show that you appreciate their talents. Trust me, it means the world to them!
